●昔を懐かしがる view the past with nostalgia; live in the past

・死んだ友人のことを思い出して懐かしがる miss [cherish the memory of] a departed friend.

●昔のアルバムを引っぱり出すと, 家の者が懐かしがって集まってきた. When I pulled out the old album, the family gathered round nostalgically.

・祖母はダムに沈んだ村を懐かしがっては時々涙ぐんでいた. My grandmother would often remember the village that was submerged when the dam was built and weep tears.
